founder/lead instructor, Mike Sackett, is a multi-published author and
three-time Maryland Writers' Association Grand Prize winner in both novel
and short story categories. His latest novel, The Striped Lion,
earned rave reviews from Pam Wallace, Oscar-winning author of Witness,
and Jack Hanna, star of nationally-syndicated Jack Hanna's Animal Adventures.
Mike's published works span many genres, including thriller, historical,
action-adventure, science-fiction, historical, fantasy and childrens'
books. In addition to authoring hundreds of articles in national and international
publications, Mike develops and teaches fiction writing courses and seminars
at several Maryland colleges, the Queen Anne's County Arts Council, the
Childrens' Guild and Maryland Writers' Association.

Simon & Schuster picked Mike's award-winning non-fiction short story, The Ride Home, for inclusion in Marlo Thomas's book, The Right Words at the Right Time, Volume II. Mike also enjoys sharing hard-learned lessons with his students, many of whom have been published.
